Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible is the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of lost and sinful men and women.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit who indwells the Christian and who, by His power, enables believers to live a godly life and witness to others.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost, they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

In addition to the above, we believe that God has created the family as the core unit of society, consisting of one man and one woman and any children they may have.

We believe that the Bible is clear regarding the sexual identity of men and women and we hold to its standards for marriage – one biological man and one biological woman covenant to each other and to God for a life lived in love together. Sexual activity is only to be expressed in the bonds and commitment of marriage.

All volunteers and staff of NeXus are expected to agree to these major pillars of our Christian faith. If you are unable to agree to this declaration of faith and beliefs, we will do our best to help you find another organization where you could serve.
